After withdrawing troops from Afganistan, the Taliban has moved in to quickly take control of the country. The insurgents have taken control over two-thirds of the country and taken possession of weaponry, vehicles, and more the United States has previously provided to Afghanistan.
President Biden previously announced that the U.S. troops will be withdrawing from Afghanistan by September 11th, the 20 year anniversary of the 2001 September 11th attacks.
Just Thursday Biden ordered 3,000 troops to Afghanistan for a temporary deployment to help evacuate the U.S. Embassy. Troops are expected to arrive within the next 24 to 48 hours.
